She's a big part of the reason that he's part of Zenith in the first place, and as time marches on he finds himself getting just a touch more... protective of a woman who probably doesn't need that much protection.
He is there for that reflecting pool run in though, and grunts in mild surprise when he feels someone bump into him, turning to look at someone who is clearly a new arrival given the fact that Atsumu has never seen him before, and he's got that sort of fresh meat look about him. ]
