[ Drizzt hasn't been back to the Tree since his own rebirth, and he regrets it. The Tree had facilitated his return, his ability to continue to make a difference and protect what was left, and showing his gratitude to it was part of what he wanted to do. Busy with his work in the Beyond, he returns to the urban parts of Kenos only to restock and check in on people — and today, he is grateful to end up where he does. At the Tree, someone new is crawling forth from the loam, and they're not having a good time of it.

He remembers his own arrival. Finding Raphael there had been a deciding factor in his determination to make the most of his fate. Now, he can pay it forward to someone else — and he steps out from behind the loops and whorls of roots, towering and massive, to call out to the anguished young man. ]

[ His voice is a quiet thing, calm and laconic without lacking warmth.

Normally, he avoids touching others without taking stock of how they look at him. Right now, he thinks that this newcomer needs the comfort, and so he cautiously approaches — a dark-skinned creature with long, tapered ears. White hair thick with waves and curls, riotous around his fey face and those gentle violet eyes, he crouches down alongside Chrono and presses a hand to his shoulder. ]
