[ Matt's not so well-versed in Mesoamerican cosmology, but he's certainly encountered the Feathered Serpent. His eyes, already wide, grow a bit rounder. From what he recalls (slowly, his brain grinds into gear, following those initial associations), the Aztec pantheon is big into duality and sacrifice. That and truly acrid family drama, though again, that part's fairly common in world religions.

Interesting that Tezcatlipoca should be among the first he encounters after being asked to take part in this cosmic conflict. Interesting that his nemesis brother should be here too.

Tezcatlipoca laughs, jarring him out of his thoughts, and Matt smiles at him sheepishly. ]
