That's where things get difficult. Because everything does want to live. And we should--when it's our time. But this religion I'm thinking of holds that basically, this world we experience isn't the truest world, the truest world is ... you could call it god, or the universe. The universal soul. Where all the walls between us fall down and we're able to rejoin this source of ... peace, and life, and light.
And even within a natural lifespan in the world, we do have to die. We have to make room for a new generation, so they can have a shot at doing all the things we love about being alive.
