Ah, no... Maybe it doesn't work in your world like it does in mine...
[It makes sense that in different realities there would be different kinds of godhood, of immortality. Grace's is a bit difficult to explain, but if anyone can understand, surely a god can.]
We pass our divinity on from time to time, to mortals. Calliope passed her divinity on to me, and soon enough all her memories will be my memories. And eventually, one day, I'll pass it on to someone else. Who knows when that will be, though.
[Before she was thinking she might hang out this way for a century or two, but she knows Calliope likes to pass on anytime she finds a new artist to be enamored with. Once Grace is more Calliope than Grace, who knows? Maybe she'll feel the same way.]
At some point I'll probably start calling myself Calliope again. But I'm good with Grace, at least for now.
[Apollo says she doesn't have to change her name, but she doesn't know many idols who don't start going by their line's name eventually. At some point, the overwhelming memory of being Calliope will just be too great for Grace to sound right anymore.
She thought at first she'd be sad about that. She's had months to get used to the idea since then, though, and she finds more and more than it doesn't bother her too much.]
