Oh, [ Matt says.

Definitely not what he thought based on the word "avatar." Maybe Demeisen means something closer to metonymy? The way a social media avatar is the stand-in for your entire online presence, in all its multimedia glory. He turns over further questions in his mind, crafting and abandoning framings based on what Demeisen's said so far. Can't or won't make himself understood to mortals, doesn't go out of his way to be helpful. Hostile to living beings.

A vessel made for war would certainly fit the bill. Though Matt notes with some interest that Falling Outside the Normal Moral Constraints is pretty much his personal definition of chaotic to malign spirits. ]

That's fascinating, [ he adds after a moment, a bit sheepish as soon as the words leave his mouth. ] That is, it's totally possible that warships or cars or other things I'm used to thinking of as "inanimate" have some kind of consciousness, back home, [ in fact various spiritual traditions would say they absolutely do! ] I've just never interfaced with any.
