[Several moons ago, Jade might've been repelled by the idea of socializing with nobles or anyone from a position of privilege. Her world views have changed a bit since the person she was back then, thanks to the company she'd kept, give or take a "near death" experience or two.

[Not that she can tell one way or another from Alice just by looking at her. Everyone here seems so... different from the type of people she is used to seeing, she's having a hard time getting a good read on most of them.

[It's overwhelming to the point where she hadn't been maintaining eye contact so much as just studying her drink, wondering what this weird, warm, twitchy feeling in her chest is supposed to be.]
