[There were plenty of things wrong with Jade's mind, even without the mysterious absence of the psychosis she suffered since she was young. Masking that wrongness was something she turned into an art form over decades. Small miracles that her behavior could easily be attributed to something else.

This guy might not judge her, but she'd judge herself plenty if she were to make a display in front of the first person she sees, understandable as it might be.

[Maybe he brings it up because she referenced a desert earlier, but it's a small comfort either way. Her home in Nehrim's Southrealm was surrounded by arid lands, too, so she always felt more comfortable in warmer climes.
