GIVE US A BLURB ABOUT THEM!:
Dimitri Blaiddyd is a man with a deep well of trauma, PTSD, and survivor's guilt. He survived a massacre and an assassination attempt when he 10 or 11, one that left a good friend of his and his father dead, along with countless others. Since then he has been stricken with guilt for surviving and for a long time, imposed on himself the responsibility for slaughtering anyone connected with that dark day of his history. He also carries the heavy weight of rulership. He was crown prince of Faerghus and is now king and he feels personally responsible for ensuring the well-being of his kingdom and cares deeply for his people. He is capable of great violence, although he no longer relishes it as he once did.
At his heart, however, a part of him would rather have not been king in the first place. He is gentle in many respects, preferring to work with his hands or perform simple labor rather than deal with court politics. But he is determined, brave, and true to his friends now that he has begun the long, slow recovery from the darkest depths of his own mind. The question is whether he will be able to maintain that in the face of yet more loss of those he cares for and the people he feels bound to protect.
He's been (unsure) about a lot of this lately, but the assassination is likely to galvanize him a great deal and set him on a more active role in the future...
GENERAL PLANS:
Right up until the assassination, Dimitri has been wavering a little on where he stands and how he feels, even with his second tier harmonization. There's too many unaswered questions, there's too much going on behind the scenes for him to really be entirely on board with fighting a war for something he's not sure about - or even whether he believes his world is truly gone. The assassination is probably going to change all of that.
He's going to be throwing himself into Springstar to try and bring order out of chaos, post-assassination. He may not have necessarily seen eye-to-eye with Cyrus and been skeptical of motives... but he's also unwilling to sit by and let someone else take over after the assassination without being sure that they're better for the people of Springstar - or the shard-bearers. Like him or not, Cyrus had a way. So expect him to be more involved in politics over the next few months - and maybe more hostile to Zenith as well, as much as he doesn't like the idea.
EVENT SPECIFIC PLANS:: I'm mostly getting some bullet points out here...
*Dimitri will be fighting hard against monsters and Zenites invading Springstar, especially the ones who are hostile. Zenith who seem to have non-hostile intent he'll stop and bring into custody until the whole situation clarifies, but he's not sure he can take the chance on letting them slip by. Want to be interrogated (kinda nicely)? Want to fight? Dimitri's your guy.
*He will also be doing his best to help your everyday Springstar citizens, whether that's by helping them move stuff, giving them healing aid, or protecting them from monsters. His main focus will be on that, honestly, until he hears about the assassination attempt.
*He has not been informed at this point about the RAILGUN but he'll jump in to help defend the weapon site post-firing and he'll probably bring his Springstar troops with him to help - and potentially even counter-attack if he can be persuaded of a worthwhile target. He has no illusions that they'll be conquering Highstorm, but a raid to get something of value? That's something they could definitely do (and clash with someone on). He'll be doing his best to avoid civilian casualties, though, and will be stridently attack members of his own faction who intentionally go after civilians or mistreat prisoners.
*He will also be reaching out to Springstar leaders in the wake of the event to offer his support... and get a better read on the politics of the situation. He can't sit around and coast anymore - that's his resolution. Someone needs to take control and, however reluctantly, he's going to start seeing himself as the one to try and do it...
CR WISHES: Offering: -A rival -A training partner -Potential foeyay -An utter dork of a man who enjoys shit like gardening and talking about horses -Someone to offer comfort or guidance -An enemy if you get up to some very immoral stuff -Maybe a some kind of romance or lover stuff if we think they click! -Someone incredibly trusting at first blush
Seeking: -Cross-faction friendship or rivalries -People to help him keep his head above water with his morals -Or alternately people to try and drag him off of that and Make Him Worse -Relationship stuff, if they click -Some ~deeper connections~ -People who can give him magical support, because he doesn't have a lot of that. -Fellow gardeners -Training partners, etc
