NAME: Fane CANON: Divinity Original Sin 2 FACTION | ASPECT: Meridian Savant
GIVE US A BLURB ABOUT THEM!: Fane is your local Literal Skeleton and grumpy wizard. Once upon a time he was a researcher of the magical mysteries of his universe, but after being (unknowingly) betrayed and scapegoated by a group of nobility conspiring together, he was locked in a tomb for several thousand years. However, because his race of people is immortal, his flesh just rotted and left him alive. After being freed from his tomb into a strange new world, he's desperately trying to find out what happened to his missing people and hopefully trying to restore them. He's rude and judgemental at first blush, but he's a very sensitive guy underneath who just isn't coping with this trauma well.
Also, romanceable NPC. Yep.
EVENT SPECIFIC PLANS:: Fane is part of team SCIENCE/MAGIC working on the gun! He's a devout Meridian even though he hasn't been in Kenos all that long, and is willing to go to great extremes without much moral quandry because he's an ends justify the means kind of guy... If their gun kills a lot of people, well, they shouldn't have been Zenites. So, yeah.
He's also helping earlier in the month with Liem's task of planting tainted Shards with Zenites, though this isn't something that is widely known at the time.
For the assassination portion of things, I fear that Fane... will not care. It's his opinion that mortal leaders are essentially interchangeable, so he won't realize the gravity of it until, uh, way later, probably.
In general if you're Meri, then Fane is happy to offer magical instruction and work with you. He's grumpy and sour, but he's a better team player than he might appear. He'll just be hella rude until he warms up to you. Sorry. If you're a Zenite, he'll fight you to the death, probably. he's normal
CR WISHES: + Friends! Fane is very weak to the Power Of Friendship, though he'd never admit it. He's pretty easily won over by people who treat him kindly, and especially to people that are sensitive to his situation. He didn't get much understanding in his home world, so he treasures kindness now.
+ Enemies! Fane is, uh, pretty fucking brutal and hardline. There's not many lines he won't cross for Meridian. So, if you'd like a dedicated and extremely petty hater, I have a skeleton for you!
+ Okay But Make Him Chill! AKA people who are willing/able to try and soften the above point. Fane is very much influenced by people he cares for, so he could soften his hard anti-Zenite stance if given good reasons to.
