NAME: Howl CANON: Howl's Moving Castle (novel) FACTION | ASPECT: Zenith | Iconoclast GIVE US A BLURB ABOUT THEM!: Disaster male love interest wizard who isekai'd himself into a fantasy world after he graduated university and has been avoiding his shitty family ever since. In his early twenties, he permanently screwed up his life when he entered into a contract with a demon, purely because he felt bad for it and didn't want it to die. Since then, he's been missing his heart (both literally and metaphorically) and grown into a sexy manchild as a result. Emotionally immature and irresponsible, he would prefer to spend all of his time enjoying the pleasures of life, but because he's kindhearted at his core and has a strong sense of right and wrong, he often finds himself stepping up when necessary... while insisting that that definitely, totally, completely isn't what he's doing. Very much a Neutral Good type of guy who desperately wishes it was easier for him to be True Neutral, because it's so much less work. His contract with said demon has given him enormous magic power and ability, but on a day-to-day basis, he struggles with more commonplace issues in his personal life. Being a powerful wizard is useful for a lot of things in life, but it can't help Howl learn to love himself or act more responsibly.
GENERAL PLANS: Howl is brand new to the game, and he hasn't done much in his first couple of weeks in Kenos aside from aggressively ignore that any of this is real and tell himself that he's totally gonna find a way to get home any day now. As time goes on and he starts to understand how real the situation actually is, he might start to step up, but very begrudgingly. That being said, his loyalty is still very much up for negotiation, as he is definitely not a committed Zenite yet. If you're a Meri want to score some points with your faction by helping to convert a recent arrival, or a Zenite interested in earning similar points by helping Howl get more serious about his chosen faction, there's a good opportunity here for you! Howl will probably complain the entire way, though.
EVENT SPECIFIC PLANS:: Howl is going to be taken completely off-guard by both the assassination and the attack on the Manor, because he's not paying close enough attention to hear any of the preliminary rumors/warnings. Once shit hits the fan, he probably won't be able to ignore some of the people in need. Since helping Springstar citizens would mean traveling intentionally into an active warzone — something he will not do — Howl will most likely be helping out with the destruction wrought in Highstorm and/or getting roped into exploring normally inaccessible areas. I'm pretty open to doing anything with Howl since he's so fresh, so if you have a specific idea, hit me up! I'll most likely be writing an open top-level for him, so you can always tag me there too.
CR WISHES: For interested characters, Howl can offer CR relating to magic, first and foremost! Whether that's fellow magic users, people interested in learning magic here in Kenos, or anything else. He's a powerful wizard who can detect spells and curses on other people, so if your character has powers that could be described as "magic," there's a good chance Howl will be able to pick up on that.
I can also offer some interesting CR for demons and demon-adjacent characters. Howl has a contract with a demon himself, Calcifer, who is currently stuck in his room at the Manor while he looks for a new place to live in the city. He has a very relaxed and accepting attitude towards demons (and, really, anyone who lives or exists outside usual norms - ignoring the status quo is his life philosophy) while being fairly knowledgeable about them at the same time, so anyone with some Opinions on demons could find some interesting interactions with him too.
Finally, of course, there's romantic CR, whether successful or not,,, The guy is kind of a fuckboy and I have to apologize for him ahead of time,,,,,, but if you're interested in a handsome guy with a bad 80's haircut trying to pick up your character, Howl is absolutely available for that at any time, lmao.
As said above, I don't have any particular ideas yet for Howl long-term, with him being so new. Let's just throw our blorbos together and see what happens!
