CHARACTER
NAME: Cid Garlond CANON: Final Fantasy XIV FACTION | ASPECT: Tier 2 Zenith | Savant GIVE US A BLURB ABOUT THEM!: A pacifist who fled his violent homeland in order to give benevolent technology to the nations his homeland was invading, who went on to spend five years as an amnesiac as a result of crippling PTSD the game likes to ignore.
He’s also decided that the best way to handle the situation is to strive towards balance. That being said, after the last Oracle was broadcasted publicly, he’s laid low about it, being conflicted between believing Zenith’s ideals of a better world and experiencing what catastrophic things happen when elements get out of balance in his own world.
GENERAL PLANS: To say that Cid is going to disapprove of the assassination is taking things very lightly. He’s going to despise it once he learns what happened. This is absolutely a pacifism thing than actually caring about Cyrus at all, though. A part of him is also going to be wondering about how bad Meridian’s security is, but that’s the former high-ranking civilian of the Garlean Empire talking.
That being said, Meridian attacked what has become his home, killing people. He’s going to be pissed about that, too. Especially since the manor being attacked means he’s lost his home.
He’s still a Zenite at the end of the day, though, and since he’s not a combatant he isn’t going to step foot in Springstar. So he’ll be available for anyone in Highstorm, and will be interested in helping anyone who needs assistance.
EVENT SPECIFIC PLANS:: Cid will be primarily focused on getting civilians to safety, and for that reason, he won’t be leaving Highstorm.
He’s also going to need to find somewhere else to live, with the manor’s destruction. Whoops! Anyone want to be roommates with a guy who can perform maintenance all over the house/apartment/etc?
Beyond helping civilians, he’ll of course be seeking out his fellow Zenite Shardbearers to make sure they’re holding up. He’s not the best at moral support, but he’ll do his best on that.
I’ve been floundering for a bit, and am eager to have this event be a jumping point to supercharge Cid. It’s going to be an enormous slap to his ideals, as he’s been convincing himself this could continue on without major acts of violence for some time.
He’ll be checking in on his Meridian CR, though given his previous sympathies, he won’t have heard anything beforehand. CR WISHES: I’m open to pretty much anything at this point. Cross-faction CR, maybe Zenith CR to soothe him back into the fold… I tend to play things by ear, so I don’t have any long-term plans for him. I don’t see him getting to tier 3, however. He’s just not fanatical enough.
He’s a healer, so anyone who gets injured in the Meridian assault can rely on him to patch them up. To an extent, anyway. His magicks can only take him so far.
Anyone who is also way in over their head is free to join him in panicking over the situation in general.
