The Literal Egyptian God of War, the Desert and Chaos? In my DWRP game??

Unfortunately.

Set is a menace wearing too many masks, sensitive and sentimental behind a veil of capriciousness, cruelty and carnivorousness. He's a deeply opportunistic Meridian-loyalist, who is finally denying himself the thing he wants most ( due, partially, to a curse that forbids him from ever getting what he wants )! In being the head of the team that organized, built and fired the magical weapon that decimates Yima's Manor, he's fully prepared to go to any lengths to ensure Zenith either steps up, or gets out of his way as the war ramps up. <3

In canon, Set was victimized by his brother Osiris, leading him to slaughter millions of humans and lead Egypt into ruin until his nephew, Horus, kicked him off the throne. Banished into the land, his divine authority stripped from him, Set was permitted to begin the process of atoning for his crimes against humanity. The only reason he wants to, is so that he can get home to his son, Anubis.

GENERAL PLANS:

The Aptly-named Railgun ( actually just a magical beam of Sunlight and Meridian Energy Focused On A Precise Point ) is the culmination of a year of work, and a very satisfying conclusion to the plans I laid as a player. My general plans with Set from here on out are to move him into a position of leadership and guidance within Meridian, but pull back ( me, not this active asshole ) from as MUCH activity as I used to have him in. He'll be getting worse for himself, as he gets better for the people who rely on him, or need him in any capacity. <3

He'll be falling in deeper with the Church of Helios, and reaching T3 after this month. I've wrapped up ( or encouraged others to look into! ) many of the standing narrative pieces he's explored before, so he'll be supporting others as I try to continue to balance his innate curiosity with my, uh, modly behind-the-scenes knowledge. We're here to support crew, now!

EVENT SPECIFIC PLANS::

FOR MERI(S). Handwaved, but notable, is that Set is offering to cover for everyone involved by announcing himself as the one who designed and fired the weapon on Yima's Manor. If any Meris want to continue to fly under the radar, even if they helped him out, they can shelter in his shadow ( and behind his big mouth ) and rely on public announcement that he's the one who dealt with Zenith's leader to maintain their connections, position themselves as "unhappy spectators" or otherwise attempt to ingratiate themselves back into the graces of Zenites/Highstorm. How effective that'll be is, well, to be seen. But, he'll make the offer.

Regardless, he wants it known that He Did This.

He'll also be mourning Cyrus, in his own way. In a way, he knew this was coming ( as a god of war, he understands and respects murdering leadership; why else would he do it too?! ) and has already long-prepared himself for the eventuality, since Cyrus once told him how old Tribunes only were replaced after their death. He'll be putting his support behind Agapitos from here on out, but anyone who ever disparages or second-guesses Cyrus again will get hit. <3 ( My running joke is that he'll probably ask D to res Cyrus, then hide him away on Xanadu as a retiree cabana boy for him and Akua, but sadly, that's only in my dreams. )

Ironically, when Quetz dies, he'll be the same way about her. 8( Too good for this world.

FOR ZENITE(S). Oops, sorry that he's not sorry? He's here for NEGATIVE CR, BABY.

He'll be AWOL for the first part of the event, largely because ( as I remember ), he'll either be put in the Hamster Ball of Normalcy by Atsumu and thus, out of the way, or he'll just be too busy finishing the Sunlight Railgun once the rumor mill starts talking in Highstorm. He'll largely be available at his shrine/Quetzalcoatl's temple or by Communion, for duels, debates and defense until the second half of the month, whereupon he'll be either making a huge announcement ( see: covering for the other Meris ) and then available to chase down/attempt vengeance upon, as he takes flight through Highstorm for the same reason: to help his other Meris get away, look good/neutral or snoop without being the focus.

CR WISHES:

Fair warning, that Set is a pretty brutal. He's smart and insightful, and prone to asking demanding questions or providing advice without mercy or gentleness; he can be very purposefully cruel, wears a lot of masks to dissuade people from finding his sensitive interior and his tongue LOVES to mock. Beyond that, he's supportive, sweet and genuine in all that he does when in private — Set's one of those guys where one interaction will tell you all HE wants you to think you know about him, but repeated interactions earn you the rest.

I love all types of CR! I'm looking for him to mentor individuals interested in social networking in Springstar ( via the Church/Coliseum ), deepening their relationship with or faith in Meridian's promise and/or doing underhanded shit to ensure Meridian's victory. I also love negative CR, especially grudges, and I fully expect him to walk out with people on both sides being VERY UNHAPPY with him!
