He has never spoken directly to her before, and never in Communion, so the path is opened awkwardly and without the usual focus required for a strong connection. As soon as he reaches her, his mind rushes forth with an intense and primal sense of panic, a mixture of both fight and flight, and the horror of knowing that neither has worked. In the same moment that he's trying to speak to her, certain death is imposing down on him.
Has Yima ever died before? Has she ever been dissipated? It's hard to know how a being like her would react to the experience of dying, if at all. But if she knows and understands real mortal death, she'll probably still recognize what's happening for what it is.
