This event takes place in Crystal Valley, a place full of commerce, dark academia, fantasy Catholics, and fantasy racism.
WHAT TO DO IN THIS WORLD:
Explore the markets! You can find, among other things, apothecaries, armorsmiths, rune sages who sell lesser runes, magic scroll makers, bars, and restaurants. Many of them are fancy and intricately built and the people there might sneer at you depending on how you're dressed. There are more run down but more energetic locations on the outskirts of town. It would seem things get more strict the closer you are to the One Temple.
Experiment with lesser runes! These runes can give you access to spells or new attacks or do something like make you run faster. For this event, feel free to make up your own Runes if you want.
Fight monsters outside the city walls. Most of these monsters are beasts like wolves or rabbits wielding hatchets (yes). Guards might reward you with potch, the local currency, to spend at the markets.
Infiltrate the Howling Voice, a network of spies and assassins who seem to worship guns. People who know about guns will have an easier time with this.
Visit the library of the One Temple, a library so vast the locals swear it contains all the knowledge of the world. There are rumors that there are political prisoners held beneath the temple.
Be ostracized or treated as a slave by nobles if you have obvious animal features (yay?).

Crystal Valley is the seat of power in Holy Harmonia, a kingdom known for its strong military, its focus on higher learning, and a notoriously aggressive foreign policy. The society there has a strict hierarchy with the Bishops at the top and beastfolk considered slaves at the bottom. Harmonia worships the Circle Rune, the True Rune of Law that creates order and stagnation. The Circle Rune is in the possession of Harmonia's leader, High Priest Hikusaak, who hasn't been seen in centuries.
Climate: Humid continental climate with cold winters
Architecture: The architecture of Crystal Valley is distinct with large windows on important buildings, marble pillars, crystal and glass statues and white spires.
