NAME: Link CANON: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom FACTION | ASPECT: Zenith (T1), Savant Give us a blurb about them: Lawful good knight with a destiny to save the princess and kill the big bad; when the time came to do the destiny he failed spectacularly, nearly died, and got sealed away for 100 years to recover, all so he could come back and do the destiny the right way. After he comes back, he ends up in Kenos, and chugs along as a fairly loyal Meridian until all of this shit happens. Anyway, now he's more like a fallen hero who doesn't know what to do with himself, since his duty has been his entire life ever since he woke up from being sealed with all of his memories gone. His switch to the Zenith was very much fueled by his unresolved grief and sense of hopelessness, as he's convinced that his world is cursed to never be free from endless warfare from demons, especially since he lost his canon's major demon-killing McGuffin that made him so good at killing demons in the first place. On top of that, his canon point means that he thinks he's never going to see Princess Zelda again even if he did make it home somehow.
Event specific plans: I'm not entirely sure what to do with Link this event, tbh — he's been suffering a lot for the past six months, not achieving anything or feeling like he's making much of a difference, while simultaneously being unable to convince himself to engage in the kind of cold-blooded violence that seems required to win. Although he isn't as outright miserable and lonely as he was over the winter anymore, he isn't doing "good" either. Although he's probably done enough to contribute to Zenith at this point to be Tier 2, he doesn't actually meet the mental requirements of tiering up yet, because he isn't actually committed to what it wants... he just doesn't want to bring his own world back.
I wanted to log a "win" or two for him during this event, but considering what the circumstances of this event are, I'm not sure what a win would look like for him. Deep down, he still loves his world and wants there to be some way to save it. So being forced to go home to his world, even for a brief period of time, is more likely to make him doubt staying with Zenith, not strengthen it. :') sorry Link you just really aren't ever going to win in Kenos, are you Maybe a Zenith can help him stay grounded during such an experience?? Or maybe a Meri can water that seed of doubt?
So uh... I guess the tl;dr is that I'm open to whatever! He can help defend people from monsters/other threats in their world, save people's alter-Aspect Shards from being shattered, try to collect them on his own, or just kinda hang out and be his usual self! I'd love for him to keep building up his Zenith CR, or have some run-ins with his former Meri allies.
Things you’re looking for from others: Pretty much anything! See above! Things your character can offer: I would rather not have Link's world's shard get shattered, but I am open to his alternate aspect Shard getting shattered. I also would prefer not to have him dissipated since he died recently last month. But aside from that, I'm open!
