i also like the idea of akechi figuring things out on his own even it means ryouma would be on alert for a possible betrayal because, depending on where their CR goes next, he could either try to reason he was just doing what the world required of them for a more positive-ish outcome (he isn't the type to make a whole Performance out of shattering the shard in front of people) OR try to paint ryouma as another zealot (like the rest of meri!!) who's keeping an irrational grudge on poor lil him!! :'')
