I find that very interesting. While animal farms can be lucrative, care of the livestock is expensive. My House favoured maintaining crops on their plantations. (not one to easily offer a smile, the one voryn gives sebastian now is tight.) Crops do not have mouths to feed.

Kwama do, but they are self-sufficient. Their eggs, small and large, are common in my province but still considered a sort-of fineness like your quail eggsβ€”when cooked properly. They are very sour and have a glutinous texture, (he goes on to explain, only pausing to eat the devilled egg, chewing it courteously to completion before continuing.

there is nothing rushed about voryn, but while he doesn't speak quickly, he is never plodding.
)

They are economic not solely because the insectoid queens of the kwama colonies are egg-layers but due to the workers' ingestion of the detritus in the soil that they dig. Often, the soil contains undigestible raw ores and minerals, which are then excreted and collected by miners. These materials can obviously make more high-priced goods.
