Sí, sometimes, at least! Becoming the sun isn’t an easy task and involves sacrificing yourself. It’s a scary thing! Even if we’re immortal, it’s still giving up yourself and “dying”, in a way. The sun is life-giving, so you give your life to become it, that sort of thing.
[ She nods, even though this still might go over Zhongli’s head… It makes perfect sense to her, naturally, so she doesn’t give much time to consider it before continuing with the story. ]
So, for the fifth sun, we all gathered around a bonfire to see who was brave enough for the honor. Nanahuatzin and Tēcciztēcatl were the ones that volunteered. To be honest with you, I knew it would be kind and humble Nanahuatzin that would do it, since Tēcciztēcatl was just wanting the pride and honor of it, but no importa. [ She waves a hand dismissively ] Tēcciztēcatl hestitated, but Nanahuatzin bravely leaped into the fire. [ No need to get into the whole throwing a rabbit at the moon part of it… ]
At least, that’s how it went for my domain! At least where I’m from, divinity is a complicated thing! Things like how the sun and moon came to be, every land has their own story, and every one is kind of true!
