[ It's hard to say what will make Kaeya feel okay, but rushing to talk about the faction divide and what choice he had to make is only going to make things worse — for now, at least. So he's thankful when Diluc appears to drop the subject, opting to sit right by Kaeya's side instead. Their plates are so hilariously different, because here is Kaeya still munching through his first sandwich while Diluc is halfway done his third.

He's always been more of a slow eater, even more so when he's nervous.

There were many unknowns before Diluc ever arrived in Kenos, and now that he's here, Kaeya doesn't know how things will unfold. It's terrifying to think about how difficult it is to predict the future, but before he can go down this particular rabbit hole, Diluc draws him away.

He blinks wildly at the man, and then remembers to breathe. ]

It's hard to relax when you say things like that, you know. [ His voice sounds fragile again, almost too soft, but he steadies himself.

And, even though he's terrified of being pushed away (because that's what happened the last time he tried to do this, he finds himself leaning against Diluc. Both for the support and the reassurance that his sworn brother is really here. ]
... I'm really glad you're here.

[ And that's just the plain and simple truth. ]
