[Gavial herself is no stranger to living in a world plagued by conflict. The politics of Terra were messy to say the least, which meant a constant stream of work in her years as a wayward mercenary and plenty of people to help once she’d settled down as a medic with Rhodes Island. Both professions that didn’t have real stakes in backing any one country or faction outside of the others, at least on the surface.
So the question of neutrality had been primary on her mind here from the get-go. And if it weren’t for the way one pesky little thing worked here, she’d certainly still be doing some fence-sitting until more thoroughly persuaded.]
Well, that depends on how exactly it is you plan on helping people. For me? I’m a healer, but the thing is, for any sort of magic to work out here you gotta be attuned to the forces that run this place. And since I couldn’t just sit by seeing people hurt when I could do something…
[It meant giving in and throwing her lot in with Zenith out of convenience. And frankly, there hasn’t been too much of a downside to the whole thing just yet.]
Might’ve wound up picking one side, but the way I look at it, it’s more like… mercenary work, I guess.
