[Byleth considered Yuri for a moment. It was odd, he felt an immediate kinship towards him that he wouldn't have in any other circumstances. In their world, Yuri had been rather elusive. Aside from aiding him in battle from time to time, or vice versa, the man had been like a ghost, drifting away before Byleth could even think to approach him outside of work means. He had assumed Yuri simply wanted nothing to do with him, and thus accommodated him accordingly.
But here...
They're the only ones from their world, thrust into an incomprehensible situation and forced to play along. The Dimitri and Claude here were familiar... but also alien. It stood to reason he'd feel kinship with Yuri, even if they were essentially strangers to one another.
A stranger, meaning someone who Byleth could build a bond with on his own terms, with his own efforts, and who understood his position, having faced him as an enemy and then fought with him as an ally. Really, his fortunes were starting to turn...]
We're the only ones from our world - and I mean our world. Dimitri and Claude don't know Shez, and they expressed confusion when I told them of the war and how it began...
[He paused, trying to think on how to organise his words.]
So... I wouldn't mind, if we continued to be allies here. Then you can learn more about me, from outside the professional side of things.
