[ Let it be known, that Set is someone who sometimes ( often? ) acts without thinking. Especially in a given moment where his mind is not settled and his nerves churn in fits and bursts of sentiment — the image of his son swims in his hindbrain, never so close but so far away from him than in this moment. Not even when Yima had shown Anubis burning, suffering, dying in a vision, had he felt the sudden press of danger to that boy's life. So, diving into Communion with D and being slapped across the face with what he hides below his placid exterior is enough to cause him to jump like a cat that has touched water. Or been surprised by the appearance of a vegetable.

What tethers him is the physical hold he has upon D's wrist, the faint jerk of which betrays Set's body literally driving itself backwards even as his mind strikes out — automatic, clearly distressed by the sudden burst of sensuality that confuses him, disorients him. There is a lack of anger or blame towards D for it, as Set recoils more like someone readily flustered, more than someone who would despise him for that internal mire. ( He has not much will to resist such things, because even as one part of his mind shows tall, pale, beautiful Anubis to D, another part schisms and begins to place hands to that curtain — behind which the velvet power had been hid.

All the hedonistic parts of him, seeking experiences and moments that might blind him to himself, will naturally go questing for what is hidden. )

Anubis's gaze is darker than D's, black irises and lush eyelashes, a mouth that seems set in a perpetually stoic frown. He is little like the smiling, happy child that had briefly been shown to him, but every inch of him is unmistakably the same creature; his expressions are small and fleeting, his dark beauty an eerie mirror of D's. Set draws him back, folding the image up — defensive and possessive. ]

You look very similar, almost like twins. I had thought he had found his way out of the Tree, which surprised me. I have been in Kenos for so long, and was quite used to being the only one of my immediate kin here. Much less in-fighting that way, you see.
