If she was being honest with herself, she had been beginning to suspect it the farther her digging took her, but hearing such a casual declaration of it really made it hit home. She pushes herself to her feet and peers up at this big blue stranger with a look of muted defiance replacing her earlier dismay. It’s a rather comical sight, this girl under five feet tall staring unflinchingly up at someone much larger than herself. It isn’t the first time, after all—though while the guerrilla shieldguards had been big, the only one who might’ve rivaled this guy would’ve been Patriot himself.
