[ The idea of sharing a mental space with others is some of the nonsense that takes more adjusting too for Lin, but it's true there is some benefit to being able to tell when people are no longer around.

She presses her fingers to her lips as she considers this. A soul being adrift sounds a lot more alarming the the casual way it's being treated by Gavial, and honestly anyone Shard-bearer she's run into so far. She does admire fellows who adjust quickly, but this particular one bothers her.

Does anyone know what happens to the souls that become adrift?

[ She seems more lost in thought, her own walking up the stairs slowly down even though she keeps trudging forward. ]
